Durham Cathedral
Description
Durham’s premier icon is its 12th century Cathedral, one of the finest Romanesque (Norman) structures in the world and the focus of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the City’s strongest visitor attraction. The Chapter of Durham Cathedral have administrative responsibility for the Cathedral and for a significant area surrounding it. The Cathedral has assumed the role as interested observer throughout the visioning process.
